STANDARD SPORTS JK (CRINKLE) [UNISEX]
This design offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the defining features of 1930s leather sports jackets.
The shoulder yoke and hem-band seam have been eliminated, allowing the front to be constructed as one broad, uninterrupted surface that fully showcases the natural texture of the leather.
Jetted pockets, a characteristic detail found on leather sports jackets of the period, are incorporated to reflect their clean and understated front construction. The chest pocket is finished with an EXCELLA zipper featuring an O-ring puller, adding a subtle vintage detail.
The sleeves feature shaped cuffs that rise gradually from a horizontal line at the front toward the back. The rear is kept clean with a vertical center panel, while action pleats provide greater freedom of movement. Side adjusters allow the fit at the lower hem to be individually adjusted.
HUGO CRINKLE is a premium natural leather article, crafted from vegetable-tanned leather produced by the Italian tannery ONLY FRANK and finished with a special crinkle process.
Vegetable tanning is a traditional method of tanning hides using plant-based tannins. It preserves the leather’s natural grain and dense structure, while allowing the color to deepen naturally over time.
HUGO CRINKLE builds upon the depth of vegetable-tanned leather through the Centrifuga process, creating a dimensional crinkle texture and a richly textured surface.
While the leather still contains moisture, the natural flexibility of its fiber structure is used to form organic creases and a dimensional surface. It then undergoes a delicate drying process, with the temperature adjusted gradually rather than relying on sudden heat treatment or simple pressing.
Through this process, a deep crinkle pattern is formed on the surface. Because the texture is not overly uniform, subtle differences in the depth, direction, and shadow of the creases appear even within a single hide.
HUGO CRINKLE is not defined by a repeated pattern. Each hide has its own unique surface pattern and natural crinkle texture.
Deeply set creases create rich shadows, while softly folded areas form subtle highlights. As light falls on the surface from different angles, the dimensional texture becomes even more pronounced.
