STANDARD JK#9 (PULL-UP BROWN)

Noir Larmes has collaborated with Italian tannery Only Frank for 17 years, using NUVOLA, an ALTO-type pull-up leather produced through a full vegetable tanning process.

A two-tone brown finish is layered over a black-dyed base to create a deep, dimensional dark brown color. The leather is characterized by its rich, rounded oil touch and distinctive pull-up effect, which evolves naturally with wear.

As the leather stretches, folds, and moves with the wearer, the oils within the leather shift, gradually revealing lighter brown tones through the pull-up effect. This creates a natural contrast between dark and light brown, enhancing the depth and dimensional character of the leather over time.

A vintage crackle effect is added to further emphasize the evolving character of the material. Fine, irregular cracks emerge together with the lighter brown tones, creating a naturally aged appearance unique to each garment.

This effect is achieved by infusing oils into the leather during the dyeing process, followed by a finishing process that combines oils with aniline.

The high transparency of the aniline finish allows the leather’s natural grain, evolving color variations, and crackle details to remain visible rather than being concealed beneath a heavy surface coating. As a result, the leather develops a richer and more distinctive character through continued wear.
