JEFF is a reinterpretation of the leather sports jackets of the 1930s.
The design began with the idea of imagining how a 1930s sports jacket might have looked if worn by an alternative band in the 1990s. Based on the vintage forms and details of leatherwear from the period, it incorporates the free-spirited and nonchalant attitude associated with 1990s alternative culture, bringing the impressions of two distinct eras together within a single design.
Drawing on the style of the 1930s and the sensibility of the 1990s, the proportions and silhouette have been refined and reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective.
Labiesseuno Deerskin, produced by the Italian tannery Labiesseuno, is a premium natural deer leather distinguished by exceptional softness and flexibility. Its outstanding breathability and lightweight character ensure lasting comfort, even during extended wear.
Deer leather has a relatively loose fiber structure and lower density compared to other leathers. When combined with rigid vegetable tanning, it may become excessively stiff or develop surface cracking over time,
potentially compromising both durability and overall finish quality. For this reason, semi-chrome tanning is regarded as a highly suitable approach for preserving the material’s performance and character.
Semi-chrome tanning offers excellent water resistance and refined color expression, making it well suited for products that demand both practicality and sophistication. Its low shrinkage rate and high process stability also contribute to consistent quality and reliable production performance.
To preserve the inherent character of deer leather, Labiesseuno applies an aniline finishing process. This method highlights the natural grain character and delicate texture that remain visible after processing, allowing each piece to retain its own distinct individuality.
