GRIFONE, founded in 2004 in the Pisa area of Castelfranco di Sotto, Italy, is a tannery dedicated to the production of premium leather.

Its primary articles include lambskin, horsehide, and calfskin, produced exclusively through environmentally conscious vegetable tanning methods using natural tanning extracts derived from mimosa, chestnut, and oak bark.

GRIFONE is a small-scale tannery operated by four artisans. Rather than relying on factory-style mass production, it produces exceptional leather through meticulous handcraftsmanship and environmentally responsible processes.

One of its representative articles, GHIRU REMOVABLE, is produced from carefully selected Polish horsehide that meets strict standards of approximately 11–19 square feet in size and 0.7–1.3mm in thickness. It offers excellent leather quality and durability, while its eco-conscious vegetable tanning and semi-aniline finishing preserve the natural texture and authentic character of the leather.

A defining characteristic of GHIRU REMOVABLE is its tea-core aging effect. With continued wear, the surface finish gradually wears away, allowing the underlying ground color to emerge naturally, revealing subtle brown undertones and creating a rich, evolving patina.
