Designed with a silhouette that prioritizes comfort, allowing it to be worn with ease by a wide range of wearers. In line with the principles of a semi-oversized fit, the shoulder line has been carefully balanced to avoid appearing overly angular or excessively dropped.
The hem is constructed with a segmented panel structure that eliminates rear banding, ensuring the lower silhouette remains stable even when the zipper is left open. The chest yoke serves as more than a design element, helping to distribute the natural contraction and tension characteristic of leather so that stress does not concentrate in a single area.
The body pockets are designed as boldly proportioned slanted welt pockets, creating a clear focal point within the otherwise restrained composition.
The Distress (Cloudy) article was developed with inspiration drawn from leather garments that had naturally discolored over decades, particularly those aged through the passage of time since the 1970s.
At Noir Larmes, in collaboration with the Italian tannery DEGI PELLAMI, we developed the Italy Vegetable-Tanned Distressed Métis Leather (Full Grain) article based on Vegetable Tanning using environmentally conscious raw materials to create a Distress effect. Compared to conventional Distressed Leather tanned on a chrome (chemical dye) basis, this article is distinguished by superior quality, along with a more natural and deeply vintage character.
To achieve this effect, the process begins with either the natural crust color or a ground-dyed base color. A lighter dye is then irregularly sprayed across the leather surface. By carefully reducing the dye concentration and increasing the spray speed, portions of the grain surface remain unsprayed, allowing the ground color beneath to remain visible and creating a two-tone effect.
Crafted from Full Grain vegetable-tanned Métis leather, it offers the firm thickness and supple touch characteristic of the durable ALTO type.
Vegetable Tanning (tannin type) is an environmentally conscious tanning method rooted in traditional craftsmanship, using plant-based tanning agents through a manual tanning process. Due to the inherent characteristics of tannin-tanned leather, it develops a more distinctive patina over time while expressing the natural texture of genuine leather.
Métis leather refers to a population developed through the long-term shared grazing of sheep and goats over many generations, resulting in accumulated genetic influence between the two species.
This leather is characterized by durability, a subtle natural grain texture, backbone markings, and fold marks, while also retaining the supple form and softness associated with lambskin.
*Due to the nature of the spray process, in which dye is irregularly applied over the ground color, variations in color density and brightness may occur.
*Due to the hand-finishing process in which the surface color is manually removed, the Distressed-effect varies from piece to piece.
