This premium shearling leather is crafted from Spanish Merino lambskin, regarded as one of the finest raw materials among shearling and mouton leathers, and tanned by PISTOLESI, a renowned Italian tannery specializing in premium fur and shearling leather.

The SEMI MICROCRACK article uses shearling hides with a thickness of 22–24 mm, providing reliable warmth even in the depths of winter. Rather than using standard adult sheepskin, it is made exclusively from carefully selected Spanish Merino lambskin, distinguished by its lightweight, flexible feel, dense structure, and excellent insulation.

Conventional shearling (mouton) commonly uses NAPPA REFINISH leather, which is generally processed through a relatively simple two-stage method involving surface suede treatment, SPRUZZO application, and specialized finishing machinery to achieve a uniform appearance.

By contrast, the MICROCRACK process used by Noir Larmes applies an additional four stages on top of the same foundational processes, resulting in a total of six production stages. After suede processing, a base SPRUZZO application is performed using a tone one to two shades lighter than the standard color, followed by a fixation stage at a controlled temperature. An additional SPRUZZO application is then carried out in the standard target color.

The leather then undergoes Pistolesi’s specialized VUOTO LAVATRICE vacuum drum process, where the sprayed pigments on the surface are intentionally evaporated under vacuum conditions in accordance with the natural grain texture, creating the signature distressed dimensional effect. In the final sixth stage, dust and residual particles created during this evaporation process are removed, followed by a binding treatment that refines surface touch and enhances water resistance, completing the article.

In summary, this article applies four additional finishing stages over a soft nappa leather base in order to create a rougher and more dimensional surface character. Compared to conventional nappa types, it offers a more sculptural appearance and enhanced durability.
